City´s Highlights

Depending on the weather, the tour begins by climbing to Monserrate Top to determine the breathtaking landscape. After descending, we’ll continue to Plaza de Bolívar, where you can admire the main square itself and the government buildings around: the Prime Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the National Capitol, Casa 20 de Julio, the museum. Lievano Palace (the Mayor’s Office), and the new Supreme Court building (Justice Palace). Then, you may walk (or by car) through the streets of La Candelaria Old Town, the historic district, and observe it’s surprising colorful colonial architecture and the different attractions, like the Botero´s Museum, (closed Tuesdays), the Opera House (Teatro Colón), the foundational place (Chorro de Quevedo), and the Eje Ambiental. The following step of the tour is the Gold Museum (closed Mondays), home of the world’s largest pre-Hispanic gold work collection, which is simply a brief stroll away. Afterwards, we’ll make a short stop to find out about the emerald process. At the end of the excursion, you may be dropped off at your hotel or at a convenient place within the geographic area.
